FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Burgundy L. Olivier
Culinary Humorist from Lafayette, LA Performs Before Thousands in Tampa, FL Tampa, FL – The "Tampa Convention Center" was recently the setting for "Florida’s Largest Home Show." Entertainment this year included Lafayette’s own Burgundy L. Olivier, Author and Culinary Humorist. The four-day event drew record crowds of over 65,000 attendees. Olivier was on stage for more than a dozen cooking performances preparing recipes from her cookbook, "I LOVE SPINACH", which was recently voted "Best Cookbook in Acadiana" by the readers of "The Times of Acadiana." Olivier was chosen among entertainers from across the nation in order to bring a different spin to this year’s show, produced by Turner Expositions. According to Olivier, "Tampa is a beautiful city with a spectacular convention center…the people just couldn’t get enough spinach." The "Spinach Lady", and the "Spinach Husband" [Al Olivier], as they are often called, also brought several Cajun and Creole foods to entice the crowds. Among these items included Tabasco miniatures, Tony Chachere’s seasoning packets, Zapp’s Crawtator Potato Chips and homemade red beans and rice with Richard’s Cajun smoked sausage. Olivier was hired for her wit on stage, her passion for cooking, her uniqueness with spinach and for her "Spinach Mobile", which was prominently parked in front of the Tampa Convention Center throughout the event.
